Our first evening dinner/show held on 27th February was a great success. The delicious 3 Course Meal started with bush tomato soup served with damper followed by bushman’s meatballs in a special sauce, jacket baked potatoes with sour cream and chives, honeyed carrots and green salad. A real crowd pleaser the dessert was apple and muntries pie with vanilla ice cream drizzled with quondong Sauce.
The Events Co-ordinator Louise Allstrom together with her team carefully planned the menu to reflect the bush theme. Thanks to them all with special thanks to our great cook Allan Ossitt for the delicious soup and tasty Bushman Balls, Hillary for her delightful damper and Irene for her dessert “to die for” The hall was decorated with green and yellow and native shrubs and flowers to set the bush scene.
Bob Magor despite suffering some throat problems was his usual amusing self and had the guests laughing at his clever poetry and witty delivery. It does not seem to matter how many times people have seen him narrating and performing “Stick your Velcro” it is still fresh and funny as he lies on the stage legs waving about the air describing his attempts to remove a Huntsman spider. Guests departed with smiles on their faces and praise for the food and entertainment.
There was a great deal of interest in our coming shows and if general enthusiasm is any guide our “Rock and Roll” and Rocky Horror Show” tickets will be sell outs so you need to book early!
