Club Get Together

The Club Events Co-ordinator Louise Allstrom invited co-ordinators of activities at Club Fleurieu to join her in a “getting to know you” afternoon. Co-ordinators are usually very busy people and there are seldom opportunities for them to meet together and discuss their individual groups activities in a relaxed environment. Louise thought that Adelaide Cup Day afternoon would be the perfect time.

There were representatives from the groups that meet on different days for a variety of activities such as Bingo, Cards, Indoor Bowls, Mah Jong, Mosaics, Scrabble, Tai Chi and “Threads” Quilting plus members of the “soon to be operational Men’s Shed”. The afternoon was a great success with people hearing about all the activities plus plans for the future.

Bubbles on arrival set the scene and people enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and responded by offering good suggestions and positive comments. Afternoon tea was enjoyed and people left saying that it was a worthwhile exercise and that they look forward to the next “get together”. A list of suggestions was compiled and this will be discussed at the next committee meeting.
