Threads Quilting Group

Threads Quilting Group meet at the Club on alternate Tuesdays.

Members have created a beautiful “Bird Themed” Quilt which won First Prize in the Yankalilla Show. They have generously donated the quilt to the Club for fundraising purposes, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to them. Watch out for a special raffle in the New Year!

Threads Quilting Group News

Threads stitching group have enjoyed another year of friendship, sharing and learning. Meeting at Club Fleurieu as COVID-19 has allowed, we’ve stitched, knitted and crocheted on challenges, works for giving and projects of our own.

There is always much support and encouragement to accompany plenty of chatter.
From our small but enthusiastic group, 48 quilts have been given to Second Chances and 6 to Flinders Kids. 35 reversible placemats have recently been handed over to Chris Lewis from Yankalilla Meals on Wheels to be used as gifts for their clients – Christmas theme on one side, and general on the other.

The results of a challenge on the theme of ‘Birds’ were combined into a quilt which won First Place for a Group Work at the recent Yankalilla, Rapid Bay and Myponga Agricultural & Horticultural Show. This quilt will be donated to Club Fleurieu for their fundraising.

Threads welcomes all stitchers and crafters to the group which meets on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Tuesday every month, generally at Club Fleurieu from 10.00am – 2.00pm, occasionally for outings.
